Using the File Picker
The file picker lets you attach files from your Files module directly in other features — mail messages and eSign documents — without uploading the same file twice.
Where the file picker appears
The file picker is available wherever you can add an attachment or select a source document:
- Mail compose — when adding an attachment via Attach file → Pick from Files.
- eSign — preparing a document — when selecting a PDF to convert for signing.
Using the file picker
The picker opens as a modal or drawer panel:
- In the compose window or feature form, select the attachment or file option.
- Select Pick from Files (distinct from uploading a new file from your computer).
- The file picker opens showing your Files root folder.
- Navigate to the folder containing the file you want. Use the folder list on the left to move between folders.
- Select the file. A checkmark confirms your selection.
- Select Attach (or Use this file, depending on context).
The file is attached or linked. The same stored file is referenced — no copy is created.
Browsing and searching in the picker
The picker mirrors your Files module structure:
- Folder navigation works the same way — select a folder to enter it, use the breadcrumb to go back.
- A search field at the top of the picker filters by filename.
File not appearing
If you cannot find a file in the picker:
- Verify it has been uploaded to Files. If not, upload it first via the Files module, then return and open the picker again.
- Check that you are in the correct folder.
Next steps
- Uploading and Organizing Files — upload and organize files before picking them.
- Composing and Sending Email — attach files in mail.
- Preparing a Document for Signing — select a PDF for eSign.
